Fareway - 'Loudmouth'
Norway’s most laid back duo Fareway presents new viby tune ‘Loudmouth’, a relaxed yet brutally honest take on a toxic relationship.
When they are not watching Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen tear down the track on F1 races while drinking beer or stepping out to skateboard on a sunny afternoon, Alex-André Aanonsen and Jacob Eines spend their days cooking chill and dreamy songs in the studio. The latest sample of their work ‘Loudmouth’ just dropped and it is truly a blissful listen.
Featuring hints of hip hop and weird pop, the track mixes the production styles of both members in a very symbiotic way. Having come together to explore a more experimental route, Alex-André and Jacob, better known as NAUUDA and Miscél, are introducing us to a different face of their art by not only combining their musicality but also showcasing their soothing vocals and cinematic lyricism.
With indie-funk guitar and bass laying the ground for wavy keyboard melodies and some lo-fi fairy dust to help everything come together, the almost bedroom-pop song touches on the idea of going back into a relationship that is not healthy even tho you are fully aware of the fact that it will hurt you. As Fareway explain, "The song is about getting back into a relationship you know is bad for you," say Fareway. "No matter how self aware you are, you still feel pulled back into it. We wanted to make it a soulful track and we took some inspiration from Brockhampton and Tyler, the Creator in the sound.”
The ambiguity of the sound is exquisitely put together. The blending of NAUUDA’s house music with the Prefuse 73-style hip/hop/jazz of Miscél effortlessly pushes boundaries. With such an exciting approach in a musical space that can get repetitive, Fareway share a refreshing take on lo-fi infused art.
