Lime Garden - 'Pulp'

Buckling up and listening to the latest single from Brighton four-piece Lime Garden is hauntingly reminiscent of being on a Waltzer at the shows. You’re 99% sure you’re having a whale of a time but at the back of your mind you’re ever so slightly pre-occupied with the notion that you could throw up at any moment.

I can put this feeling of nausea down to the brilliant but slightly mischievous basslines which bounce around your ears and taunt you with their hypnotic swirling. The guitar riffs aren’t overshadowed and pop up every so often to take the limelight like the staff that run on and give your carriage an extra spin just to see if that’ll tip you over the edge.

This maybe reads like I’m reliving some childhood fairground trauma but after a few spins it’s a really enthralling listen and carries a similar chaotic energy to that of nu-rave pioneers Test Icicles with their DIY feel.

‘Pulp’ indicates that Lime Garden have an energetic and unscripted sound which will allow the band to go on a sonic trip and draw the map as they go along.
