“pill party is a complex song for me - it’s about feeling trapped inside yourself & not knowing how to get out. during times like these, i know myself & many others find it hard to not self-medicate so i wanted to write a song about exactly that, for us. life is a crazy thing that we were all thrown into, & shit can get way too hard sometimes. I understand that everyone’s experience is different, but we all do something to numb ourselves of pain nonetheless. pill party speaks to the isolation one might feel in order to start using, all the way up to the insulation you might find yourself in afterwards. i wanted the video to be a reflection of that detachment. i definitely took a lot of inspiration from HBO’s Euphoria when it came to filming style, lighting, & overall vibe. I wanted heavy, moody lighting to further push the emotion, & i just knew a bitch needed inflatable furniture in there (for the aesthetic of course ). after seeing it all said & done, i truly feel like this video is a solid representation of an acid trip inside my brain & i couldn’t be more pleased. can i pour you a cup of tea? ” - Explains Sage.
