Margot - 'Watercolour'

London-based hazy alternative pop outfit Margot have just released their new single ‘Watercolour’. It’s an atmospheric and dreamy track with strong vocals and soothing guitar lines.

‘Watercolour’ is the latest in a series of singles and finds the band looking outwards. ‘Watercolour’ invokes the feeling of seeing a city changing, seeing life speeding up and down into a soft and gentle indie pop track. “It is an observation on the characters we see; the kind, the selfish, the inspirational, the disgraceful.” Margot’s latest is a mesmerising track and a dream for fans of The Jam and Stereolab.

Despite its message being rooted in dissatisfaction and the government's neglect of a large majority of society, ‘Watercolour’ doesn’t sound all doom and gloom, but brings an almost calming feeling with its soft compositions and mellow soundscape. Comprised of five friends who moved from the suburbs of South London to Peckham after finishing university.

Margot formed in 2018 and have released several singles and one EP so far. Their discography is an eclectic mix of surprising electronically-driven alt pop tracks that all have at least one thing in common; being transfixing dream pop songs that we can’t get enough of!
