The Dryas - 'Teammates'
The Dryas releases “Teammates”, the first single of their debut EP.
The lockdown has postponed a lot of concerts and plans in the entertainment business, but for The Dryas it turned out to be a very productive time as they were able to fully focus on making music.
The dedication paid off and they are releasing 'Teammates', the first single of their self-entitled debut EP.
The indie-pop track has everything to be a hit and already begins with a catchy chorus (“I might get money/Yeah I might get money/Yeah I might get money”) and lyrics that will make every single employee rethink their jobs whenever they hear words about being a “team member”.
The band comments on the song: “'Teammates' is a jaunty, indie-pop song filled with a rebellious sentiment that speaks to going against the status quo and sticking up for yourself.”
After plays on BBC Radio 1 and being named ‘Record Of The Week’ by BBC Introducing Abbie McCarthy, The Dryas is ready to promote their first EP, already available on all major streaming platforms.
The trio formed by Hudd Hunter-Smith, Luke Cowie and Conor Tagg met in Kent, their hometown, in a previous band. After several projects and different bands, they decided it was time to focus on their own music together. The decision was made in 2020, when they released their first song 'Boy', followed by 'Make You Mine'.
The pandemic restrictions were hard when the band got together and they were never really able to perform their songs live for the crowd. In 2021, they decided to move out of their hometown and go to Brighton, focusing on the band’s future.
All four songs from the EP, including ‘Teammates’, are written and produced by them, alongside the English producer Kristofer Harris, who worked with names such as Bear's Den and Belle and Sebastian.
The video for “Teammates” is also out and it is directed by the drummer, Conor Tagg.
