Video Premiere: néomí - 'if i wasn’t made for love'
Following on from the enormous praise for her stunning debut single ‘if i wasn’t made for love’, néomí has now returned to deliver the vibrant new video for her latest release.
Capturing the warm and heartfelt sentiment of the original song, these new visuals lean into the track’s intimate lyrics to create a narrative that wonderfully expresses the tender meaning behind the song.
"The video is about searching for love in a person but not finding any affection back. It is about not knowing who you are within ‘love’ itself, and wondering if you were made for love at all.
Shooting this video was a lot of fun. The dress I wear in the bed scene at the end is from Rosalie Boonstra, it’s one of her most recognisable dresses which has been featured in Vogue. We pulled some favours to get that dress! The funny part about that was I couldn’t dress myself but needed 2 people to put it on because it was so heavy. I fell multiple times trying to walk and dance around the room…I was so scared of destroying this masterpiece. The doll in the video also got a nickname called “baby boy”. I think we’ll probably be taking him on tour with us for a while now!
I am really proud of this small team we made it with. Just me, Stijn, Annarose and assistant Anouk were present at the day of filming. We shot this all in one day.
In the video we tried to capture the whole loophole you go through when you date someone. So meeting each other, getting home together. Then dining together with a good bottle and after that some dancing and getting into bed. What you do in a bed after a date is something I’ll leave to your imagination ;)
We put the video in 4:3 to give the video a bit more character. And I think it feels more intimate, as if you are with us in the room."
We are delighted to be able to give you an exclusive look at the visuals for the track.
