Festival News: Community returns to Finsbury Park

Over the past two years, there’s one thing that’s been missing. That feeling of being together, getting to share passions with friends and total strangers. A camaraderie, a society in solidarity. A sense of community.

By which I obviously mean the brilliant Finsbury Park- based festival, which today has crashed back onto social feeds everywhere with its fantastic new lineup.

2019 saw the Kooks, Blossoms, Don Broco and more take centre stage at the 45,000 capacity day festival, illuminated by blistering British weather that almost constituted a Summer. Then a certain global pandemic happened, and a certain industry (one of many) was crippled, with festivals understandably not happening. But, in an attempt to obviously soften the bad news that Eunice and co brought with them over the weekend, Festival Republic today announce the new Community festival. Once more helmed by incredible indie Irishmen Two Door Cinema Club, they bring with them fellow anthemic favourites The Wombats, fresh off of the release of their new album, Fix Yourself, Not The World; the fantastic Nothing But Thieves; both the inimitable Circa and the aesthetically outstanding Pale Waves; plus, Alfie Templeman, Abby Roberts, Kid Brunswick, and more!

Each band promises frantic fun, dizzying dancing and other alliterative phrases that’ll likewise make July 16 (put it in your calendars!) an incredible day.

This comes sandwiched between the two already announced Finsbury Park headline shows, with Sam Fender taking centre stage on the Friday (supported by Fontaines D.C, Declan McKenna, beabadoobee, Goatgirl and more) and George Ezra (with Blossoms, Holly Humberstone and more) rounding the weekend of Paradise off.
