Lauran Hibbard - 'Still Running (5K)'
Indie songstress Lauran Hibberd releases the dazzling new single ‘Still Running (5K)’
Bubbling-pop-icon Lauran Hibberd has been a steady rising name on the UK music scene since the release of her shimmering debut EP ‘Everything Is Dogs’ back in 2019. Her latest effort ‘Still Running (5K)’ acts as the lead single from her debut LP, ‘Garageband Superstar’, due out August this year.
Detailing the story behind the track, Hibberd reveals, “‘Still Running (5k)’ explores my self-destructive ideals. In a world where everyone’s life looks better online, and everyone’s thighs don’t touch except in real life, it explains what it feels like to start believing what you read. It’s dangerous to compare your life to others, and it’s somewhat humorous that this is what we let ourselves become.”
Endlessly humorous and brimming with a witty satire famed by duo Wet Leg, ‘Still Running (5K)’ features Limp Bizkit’s DJ Lethal and is full of courageous ‘00s rock energy.
Having previously collaborated with The Regrettes’ Lydia Knight on ‘How Am I Still Alive’, Hibberd is no stranger to seamlessly blending her unique style with another to create a wholly immersive soundscape. The Isle-Of-Wight artist explores self-destructive ideals and dabbles in self-depreciation whilst remaining firmly rooted in her iconic pop sound. Adding to her already expansive back-catalogue, this new addition firmly holds its place at the top of the pile as one of Hibberd’s best productions to date.
Featuring rap-esque lyricism and driving guitar lines, if ‘Still Running (5K)’ is anything to go by, Hibberd’s debut LP is set to take the world by storm.
‘Garageband Superstar’ is set for release August 19th 2022.
