Tom Grennan - 'Here'

Ahead of his new album ‘What Ifs & Maybes’ due out in June, Tom Grennan unveils new single ‘Here’, a moving record serving as a powerful statement of solidarity.

2022 was undoubtedly a busy year for the alt-rock sensation, with a hattrick of hit singles, consisting of solo anthem ‘Remind Me’, as well as collaborations ‘Not Over Yet’ with KSI and ‘Lionheart’ with Joel Corry. Alongside taking the pop charts by storm, Grennan played at an array of festivals, including a headline set at 30,000 capacity Godiva Festival, and completed his sold-out North American tour.

‘Here’ is the BRIT-nominated star’s latest single and offers an exciting taste of what is to come from the London-based artist’s forthcoming album ‘What Ifs & Maybes’ due out 9th June. From the opening verse, the emotional resonance of the track is clear, as Grennan makes a heartfelt declaration of his commitment to standing by someone in their time of need. As the song progresses, layered production builds and further embraces the almost tangible sense of fortitude which pervades the record.

Alongside emotive leading vocals, infectious gospel-infused melodies prevail in the chorus, seemingly acting as a subtle reminder of the power and strength found in togetherness. Shortly following the vocal intensity of the final chorus, all production is stripped back to showcase the ethereal piano-led outro, which further adds to the sincerity of the track while highlighting the versatility of Grennan’s musical talents.

Describing the thought behind the single, Grennan states: “With what's going on in the world, with so many people struggling, affected financially, by COVID, by loads of different things, it's one of those songs that helps you believe that there is somebody in your life that is going to be there for you in the struggle. There's the battle of everything. But when it's shared with somebody else, you're doing it together, not just on your own. So that’s what it's about: if I'm here for you, then please be here for me.”
