Chloe Ann - 'Never Call You Mine'

‘Never Call You Mine’ is emerging pop-rock star Chloe Ann’s latest release and proves exactly why she’s one to watch in 2023.

With authentic anthems detailing her experiences navigating life in her early 20s, Chloe Ann offers a refreshing dose of Gen Z vibrancy. The talents of the young artist were quickly recognised, with her first single ‘Dare Ya’ making waves within the alt-pop scene and being named as ‘Track Of The Week’ by BBC Introducing Midlands. Since her musical debut, the London-based singer-songwriter has released a number of solo tracks including ‘Easy To Forget You’ and ‘Home’, as well as the captivating collaboration ‘Undone’ with Drew Thomas.

Anthemic new single ‘Never Call You Mine’ provides an undeniably promising start to the year ahead for the upcoming artist. Describing the heart-breaking experience of having unreciprocated feelings towards someone, the record perfectly captures the frustration of being stuck in the friend zone. Speaking on the new single, Chloe Ann explains: “‘Never Call You Mine’ is about when you’ve caught feelings for someone you thought would only ever be your friend, and you know deep down that they will never feel the same.”

Rather than focusing on the bitterness of the situation, rocky guitar riffs and punchy drum lines offer the perfect cathartic release, while instilling a sense of empowerment within the listener. The uplifting energy of the track is showcased in the accompanying music video which dropped ahead of its release. Celebrating newfound independence, the cinematic video follows Chloe Ann as she parades around the streets of central London, before putting on an eye-catching performance in the middle of Oxford Circus as darkness falls.

With a sound reminiscent of fellow female powerhouses DYLAN and Beren Olivia, Chloe Ann has quickly established herself as yet another exciting name to add to the pop-rock scene.
