Skating Polly - 'Hickey King'

Skating Polly gift fans the abundantly energetic ‘Hickey King’ ahead of their heavily anticipated UK tour.

It’s hardly surprising when the three-piece put out a great track, and the latest precedes their new record ‘Chaos Country Line’ which is due to be available to the public in June later this year.

If the new single is anything to go by, then the group’s new album will be nothing short of spectacular.

The track is the perfect release ahead of a run of live dates, as it begins in such climatic fashion. Undeniable lead vocals backed by a classic grungy rock guitar sound begin the song, in such a fashion that will captivate listeners worldwide. This is rapidly followed up by a fast and fiery display of what the group are about. It kicks off well and truly. The accompanying video mirrors what’s likely to be the real-life reaction to the band’s new number. It depicts a euphoric, chaotic and- quite frankly- brilliant movement of a Skating Polly crowd. ‘Hickey King’ is sure to produce this same reaction as the band hit the road.

It’s quite remarkable that the band make such a noise as a trio. But in similar fashion to famous three pieces in the past such as Nirvana, they achieve such a full and unique sound.

The group really have nailed their style, and the latest single is the perfect representation of what Skating Polly are about. In the words of band member Kelli Drew Mayo, ‘It’s the most Skating Polly song on the record’.

The video which comes with the track is the perfect partner for this statement, as it shows off the live side of the group, and it can’t be ignored the crowd reaction that it shows off.

The group have established hardcore fans all around the world, and it’s a sign of the band’s talent and determination that they have embarked on such lengthy tours in both the UK and US alike.

Catch Skating Polly at one of their UK dates, and look forward to the new record ‘Chaos Country Line’ as it promises to be another brilliant release.
