Hot Milk - 'HORROR SHOW'
Mancunians Hot Milk announce heavily awaited debut album A Call To The Void, and celebrate with lead single ‘Horror Show’.
You hear the name Hot Milk and instantly think of 2019 tumblr punk-pop and songs like ‘Wide Awake,’ but the Manchester-based power duo-fronted band want you to think of them as so much more than that. After four years of grinding to make music that other people will like, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally on its way: the release of their debut album. A CALL TO THE VOID is to be released at the end of August this year and is to be their “loudest statement yet.”
Alongside the album announcement, Hot Milk released lead single ‘HORROR SHOW,’ the track that defines who the band are right now: different, and proud of it. Cathartic choruses and emphatic instrumentals really emphasise what they’re feeling. One half of the duo, Han Mee, explains that HORROR SHOW “combines our loves of drum n bass and dirty riffs,” and that it definitely does. A real ear-worm, you’ll be dancing to this for days. And, of course, the track had to come with a music video; my-oh-my, it’s a real kick in the teeth – but in the best way possible. Loud, energetic, and emo. What more could you want?
HORROR SHOW is an incredible introduction to the new Hot Milk era, and it’s a massive “f*ck you, we are who we are” to anyone who’d say different. If you’re feeling doubtful, insecure, lost, or all of the above, then let A CALL TO THE VOID be your anthem, and Hot Milk be your shining light.
