Introducing #267 - Hunny Buzz

Let us introduce you to our favourite new band - Bristol based Hunny Buzz, who have just released their surf-fueled-pop-banger ‘Now I can Get Over You’.

Drenched in a rich layer of grungy guitar with lead singer’s Lyd Read’s personality and panache spilling out across every second of the track. The new track is the first of many in the build-up to their forthcoming Pacific Wax EP out later this year.

They took a moment to talk to us about their music.

Hey there Hunny Buzz - how are you? So your track ‘Now I Can Get Over You’ is out now - can you tell us what it is about?
Heyyy, yeah pretty buzzin' for this years festival season! Now I can get over you is about the relief of acceptance of letting go of someone romantically. It is a detailed story throughout and its sound has a soft but also powerful drive about it that’s gripping and compelling.

Where are you from and what are your favourite things to do there?
We are all based in Bristol right now but congregated from all over the Southwest; Yeovil, Devon and Gloucestershire. Our favourite things to do in Bristol range from writing and performing music together to simply hangin' out and playing some Football up at the Downs.

What are the key influences when it comes to your music?
For singer/songwriter Lyd Read, Taylor Swift plays a major role in the way she constructs her musical ideas. But collectively we share interests in bands such as; Alvvays, Beach Bunny, Paramore and Wolf Alice.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
We sometimes find it hard to describe our sound as some tracks have an up-beat, care-free vibe whilst others deliver a heartfelt melancholy sound. But in short we are a Nostalgic Indie-Pop Band.

Now the track is out there - what next for you?
Now that the track is out we plan to play as many shows as we can around the UK, continue to release new music, writing new material and record our debut EP this Summer.'
