Claire Rosinkranz - 'Screw Time'
Viral TikTok tracks are no stranger to the latest internet sensation Claire Rosinkranz. Boasting a discography teeming with upbeat cuts (‘BeVerly Hills BoYfRiEnd) and laid-back lo-fi numbers (‘Sugar Water’), the Californian quickly rose to fame as the voice of teen years.
Following on from the reflective ‘Sad In Hawaii’ and the bubbly ‘123’, Claire’s latest delve into buoyant pop comes in the form of the carefree and preppy ‘Screw Time’. Complete with infectious guitar lines and demanding percussive beats, Claire croons on wanting to press pause on teenage bliss and continue to be carefree forever (“All of a sudden I need a pause button”).
Melodic and wholly captivating, ‘Screw Time’ offers a peak into Claire’s life and the anxieties that accompany impending adulthood, and teenage years quickly coming to a close (“'Cause it feels like I was just seventeen / Wondering what's next for me / They say time flies, but timе just steals from me… Running from a world made up of nine to fives”).
On the track, Claire notes: “The song is about the feeling of being in some of your most prime growing up years and wanting to live in all of the memories you’ve made forever. Instead, you watch time push you further away from your favorite moments faster and faster. Screw time!”
After being pushed back a handful of times due to health issues, her highly anticipated debut album ‘Just Because’ is set for release October 6th.
