Festival News: 2000trees Festival announce 3rd main stage headliner and much more!

Well. 2000trees 2024 was already an undeniably good lineup, but with this latest announcement — the final headliner, the day splits, and a whole new host of bands who are set to join them — it has somehow achieved an even greater level of sheer brilliance.

First, there was The Gaslight Anthem. Then, Manchester Orchestra, Kids In Glass Houses, Hot Mulligan, Boston Manor, and thirty or so others.

Suddenly, the second headliner — The Chats — came along, bringing with them the likes of Hot Milk, grandson, Nova Twins, and Death From Above 1979, as well as news that the brilliant Palm Reader would be calling it a day after 13 years, with 2000trees being their final show — and, of course, another armful of other awesome names and performers.

Now, finally, comes the last big drop: as well as The Gaslight Anthem and The Chats, 2000trees will finally have the fantastic — and ridiculously fun — Don Broco making their 2000trees debut, headlining the Sunday. Joining them comes, undeniably, *the* 2000trees band. He played the first year, he has a campsite named after him, and he always gives one hell of a show: Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls are finally back. We have the return of Bob Vylan, even higher up on the poster after a fantastic main stage showing last year; we have the debut of Wargasm, said to be headlining The Cave on the Saturday; we have the unbridled-chaos-inducing return of Empire State Bastard. It’s a hell of an announcement, that’s for sure.

And now, let’s have a look at the day splits.

Easing us in on the Wednesday, as the only confirmed day since the beginning, we have the likes of Boston Manor, Dream State, The Xcerts, Dead Pony, Lambrini Girls, The 900, and Cody Frost, along with another handful of excellent appearances.

And then it’s Thursday, and the festival can start off proper. The Gaslight Anthem and Manchester Orchestra will close off the first day, which will also see the likes of the recently reunited Kids In Glass Houses, Hot Mulligan, Spanish Love Songs, Better Lovers, Cassyette, and the just-announced trio of Los Campesinos!, Caskets, and Boston Manor — thankfully playing a second set after their VIP-exclusive Wednesday one — along with the other 30 or so awesome acts also announced.

Friday will have The Chats and the just-announced Bob Vylan finishing off the day, along with grandson, Hot Milk, Nova Twins, Turnover, Crawlers, As December Falls, Thumpasaurus, Bears In Trees, Slotface, and the return of Empire State Bastard, as well as the afore-mentioned final show of Palm Reader, and yet another 30 or so fantastic faces elsewhere on the day.

And, already, we come to the final day of the Saturday. Joining the just-announced Don Broco and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls come Creeper, cleopatrick, Calva Louise and Cauldron — and that’s just the Cs! There’s Death From Above 1979, Wargasm, Lonely The Brave, The Mysterines, Skinny Lister, Dune Rats, Angel Dust, Amigo The Devil, and The Xcerts — another Wednesday band that are thankfully playing a second time. And, of course, another excellent ensemble of 30 or so more bands.

With 100 or so artists announced, Cheltenham promises to have one of the best weekends of the year. Bring on July!
