Orla Gartland - 'Little Chaos'
Orla Gartland slams back into the limelight with her latest punchy single ‘Little Chaos’.
Opening with slamming drums, stacked guitars and a deliciously bouncy beat, this is one of those tunes that firmly worms its way inside your head in the best way. Consider our attention captured.
Gartland’s latest releases point to an evolution in her style, taking heavier influence from alternative pop rock. This sound was present in her debut album, but with last year’s 'Kiss Your Face Forever' and now 'Little Chaos' it seems Gartland is reaching new levels of confidence in her sound.
'Little Chaos' is a gut-punch of a song; the perfect combo of total earworm and satisfying lyrics. The track will resonate particularly with anyone who has been made to feel as if they are too much – an all too common occurrence for women especially. ‘Little Chaos’ is the definitive reminder that there is nothing wrong with embracing yourself in totality.
Gartland fuels her message with little snippets of her own personal experience and growth: “I can’t promise I’ll never freak out // but I’ll try not be a let down” then later coming back to state “if you really want me // take me as I am”.
Speaking on the tune, Gartland shared: 'I think a lot about how to move through the world alongside a partner and for a long time I wanted to show up in relationships as easy-going & palatable, never taking up too much space - now I can’t think of anything worse. I can be loud, funny, clumsy, loyal, intelligent, annoying, caring, angry; this song is about showing up as all of it, all at once. I think dropping the act and showing your true self feels like the most vulnerable thing you can do.'
While Gartland is writing about embracing herself as she is within a relationship, the empowering message extends beyond this realm, urging everyone take up the space they deserve.
With its infectious chorus the tune is set to be a huge crowd pleaser at Gartland’s upcoming string of sold out shows, if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket, get ready to dance.
