Festival News: Outbreak // UK hardcore’s premier festival announces yet another Line-up of a lifetime

UK hardcore’s premier festival announces yet another Line-up of a lifetime.

This past weekend, the mecca of the UK hardcore scene, Outbreak Festival, announced yet another seminal Manchester line-up set to take place over June 27th and 28th, with an extra, yet-to-be-announced, Friday show on the 26th. The 15th anniversary edition of your local hardcore fans’ favourite weekend has absolutely blown it out of the park yet again in terms of the quality of the artists and the wide range of alternative music that they provide. Famously supporting the careers of bands like Turnstile, Title Fight, Joyce Manor, Knocked Loose, and Basement in recent years, this festival continues to hand-pick bands from the plethora of modern hardcore, pop punk and emo bands that make up today’s alternative scene and create a chaotic, stacked and undefined lineup to create a weekend that you'll never forget, unless of course you walk into a spin kick in a Hatebreed pit.

This year aims to be one of Outbreak’s most ambitious yet, touting elite-level talents like Canada’s very own ALEXISONFIRE, who are set to play the entirety of their earthshattering 2006 record “Crisis” among several other fan favourites. Alongside this fantastic headliner selection sits a number of familiar faces that will have you 2-stepping till the cows come home. Names like OG hardcore master minds Hatebreed and suicidal tendencies occupy spots among post hardcore legends like Basement. Other names to note on this lineup include the one and only Trapped Under Ice, Converge, Pup, High Vis, Touche Amore, the ever-expanding Haywire and the Baltimore hate crew themselves, End It. this utterly stacked lineup has absolutely everything you need, whether you're a slam fan looking to throw hands in the pit with fellow hardcore vets or you are a long time post-hardcore fan that wants to appreciate the melodies of turmoil and suburban heartbreak that painted your adolescence, Outbreak has not just something for everyone but a truly meaningful experience that you'll cherish as a music fan for life.

Outbreak feels like home to a heavy music fan; Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre is littered with beautiful stories and beautiful people all colliding in an epic display of no barrier shows and infinitely enjoyable sets. I, for one, cannot wait to return next year and am yet again amazed by the quality of the lineup from top to bottom. From the promising names in small print, like festival favourites SCOWL and Dynamite, to the genre-defining icons like Suicidal Tendencies and Hatebreed, this Outbreak will not be forgotten. Catch you in the pit!
