Tanika Charles - 'Talk To Me Nice'

Toronto's very own soul star delight Tanika Charles shares the video for new track 'Talk To Me Nice' - the third single to taken from her upcoming album 'Reasons To Stay'.

Having already released highly acclaimed singles 'Don't Like You Anymore' and 'Here When You're Ready' - the Canadian artist continues to dazzle us with 'Talk To Me Nice'. Providing ideal teases of what to expect from her new album - which is due out on the 16th May. Produced by Scott McCannell and mixed by Monophonics’ frontman Kelly Finnigan, the new album is a series of intimate letters to members of her family, to herself and to the listener. The track is silky, it's vintage but with a modern spin and twirl on it. Bringing soul into the modern market while still holding all that we love about the genre.

“To me there is nothing quite as intimate as a distraction free, fully engaged one-on-one dialogue with someone you love. Those instances are exceedingly rare and require real effort. We are inundated with media trying to capture every second of our attention. One thing that I think is special about music is that it can complement a moment rather than overtaking it. Put this record on, look someone in the eye, and tell them something they’ve never heard before”, comments Tanika about the new single.

Two-time Juno Awards R&B/Soul Recording of the Year nominee and three-time Polaris Music Prize long-list nominee Tanika Charles is synonymous with Canadian Soul music. She has embraced the sound and aesthetic of the genre without gimmick, whilst pushing the boundaries of what audiences can expect.
