Band of the Week #0018: Low Chimes

This week's band of the week is Stroud's Low Chimes, who's debut album, 'Illumine', is released today.

Presenting a sound that steers to the left, Stroud based band Low Chimes’ sound is thought provoking, diverse and groove-laden. The band has released a batch of incredible singles this year, including ‘Sulphur Silk’, which we championed a few months back. Crowned with two BBC 6Music sessions with long-time admirer Marc Riley and gaining the attentions of fellow 6Music DJs Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson, the band have also begun to appear at some of the best-curated UK festivals: Glastonbury this year and previously Green Man, Kendal Calling and Festival No. 6.

With their release of their debut album, ‘Illumine’ today, the adventurous collection of songs merge delicate sounds from blues, indie-rock and even jazz. Adventurous and intricate, Low Chimes’ creativity articulate images of nature with lavish soundscapes. This band is a bunch to keep your eyes and ears on.
