Single Review: Kate Nash - 'Drink About You'
This new single ‘Drink About You’ lives up to Kate Nash’s reputation as an artist full of passion and sass.
This new single is very catchy with a strong nostalgic sound of teenage days and heartbreak. Accompanying this latest release has been the reveal of Kate Nash’s first album release in 5 years, titled ‘Yesterday Was Forever’, described as “your dreams being trapped in a time capsule, being caught in a moment for too long, and looking back through heart shaped glasses.”
The first single from this new album fills us with excitement. There are so many different tones within this single, showcasing a solid beat which propels the track into an energetic chorus. The potential of a tour with this content would be vibrant and exciting, full of colour and thrill similar to that of Nash’s usual character.
Nash describes this new single to be "about breaking up with someone and becoming obsessed with an idea of who they are to the point you can’t think of anything else or move on. It’s an unhealthy obsession, you imagine things are better than they are and latch on to whatever you can about the relationship that could be turned to good. And you deal with the pain in an unhealthy way too.”
Kate Nash’s new album ‘Yesterday Was Forever’ is due to be released on the 30th March 2018.
