Single Review: Vance Joy - 'Saturday Sun'

Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy is back again, blessing our ears with a new single titled ‘Saturday Sun’ which screams happiness and beauty.

This new release from Vance Joy is the fourth track from his second album, ‘Nation of Two’ following his debut album release ‘Dream Your Life Away’ Joy has the ability to capture a moment perfectly, layering different tonalities to allow a very light-hearted feeling to this new single.

I personally felt that his debut album had a much quieter sound, however this insight into ‘Nation of Two’ is exciting, telling the story of heartfelt feelings through compelling lyrics and melody. The catchy note of ‘Saturday Sun’ is one to be stuck in your head, nostalgic of summer days spent with old friends. This song is perfect for anyone who needs an injection of optimism and bliss.

Vance Joy describes his new album as, “a perfectly self-contained couple, their world beginning and ending at the bed they share, the car they ride in, or any other place where they're together…the idea that their love for each other gives them their bearings; a point of reference that makes sense of life.” 

Vance Joy’s second album ‘Nation of Two’ is set to be released on 23rd February 2018. If the rest of the album is as fantastic as ‘Saturday Sun’ then we are in for a right treat.
