Album Review: Fickle Friends - 'You Are Someone Else'

Brighton five-piece Fickle Friends are taking the synth-pop world by storm, releasing their debut album into the world today titled ‘You Are Someone Else’. Compared to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and Circa Waves this band are on for a strong future.

It is safe to say that this latest release from Fickle Friends does not disappoint the huge amount of hype that has been built around their debut album. The sixteen-track album has a bit of everything, providing the perfect Spring/Summer feeling which has everyone dancing along.

Opening the Album is ‘Wake Me Up’, released as a single a few weeks ago now which has all of the pop loving teen inside me jumping around with excitement. Another highlight of the album is the track ‘She’ which is such a fun loving, bop loving tune which would be a key sound to any Summer barbeque or house party. ‘In My Head’ provides the calmer individual to feel at peace and soothed, with the vocals having a very intimate nature.

The album itself contains both new material and re-releases of previous hits which provides new comers with a brilliant all rounded sound. The jazzy, funked up nature that this band hold is something extremely special, showing their flare through their social media presence and incredible vintage outfits.

If you have been living under a rock for the last few years and haven’t yet experienced the wonders of Fickle Friends then this is your chance.
