Avalanche Party – ‘Million Dollar Man’

Avalanche Party return with relentless intensity with ‘Million Dollar Man’.

Avalanche Party are one of the best British garage guitar bands around now. However, ‘Million Dollar Man’ is very different to previous singles such as ‘Porcelain’.  It has more of an electronic, industrial and post punk vibe about it. And it’s great. It proves the band are evolving.

The band don’t shun the punk rock ferocity in ‘Million Dollar Man’. It’s demonic, vampiric and gothic (especially if you watch the video). There’s a nod to ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ too in the opening line: ‘Please allow me to introduce myself/I’m a Million Dollar Man’. There’s robot synth vocals too towards the end of the track, somewhere between the opening of Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ and Daft Punk. ‘Million Dollar Man’ is like a punk rock Kasabian track. Avalanche Party don’t abandon guitars in the track, though. There are snakey Ennio Morricone style guitar lines, that make the track epic and cinematic.

‘Million Dollar Man’ overall is a fantastic track that could bring Avalanche Party more fans whilst giving current fans something more experimental and exciting.
