FIDLAR - 'Can't You See'
FIDLAR go for laid back hard rock cool in their new single, ‘Can’t You See’.
FIDLAR have long been associated with the surf punk scene, but ‘Can’t You See’ has a different feel that the surfer-punk-dude fans will still enjoy. The song moves away from the free loving waster vibe that earlier songs such as ‘Cheap Beer’ had. ‘Can’t You See’ song has a laid back and cool feel throughout. It’s very Rolling Stones with the Keef style guitar riff and bluesy leads, followed by a classic rock n’ roll piano solo. But it’s contemporary, as it sounds like a cool direction that The Strokes should have taken before fading away. You could even imagine ‘Can’t You See’ being included on Get Behind Me Satan or Jack White’s later solo output.
According to lead singer/guitarist Zac Carper, the band have pushed the boundaries with their upcoming album Almost Free, and ‘Can’t You See’ proves this. The band are maturing as writers and musicians without abandoning their roots or core fans, and if ‘Can’t You See’ is anything to go by, Almost Free will be a treat for all.
