Hero Fisher - 'Life Through Closed Eyes'
Hero Fisher shares the intimate black and white visuals for, ‘Life Through Closed Eyes’, one of the lead singles taken from her sensational second album, ‘Glue Moon’, out now.
There is a real beauty to what Hero Fisher is doing right now. There’s a progressive and abstract nature to many of her songs on her new album, ‘Glue Moon’. Yet vocally and lyrically, Hero Fisher channels a sophisticated, timeless style that offers a classy juxtaposition to the more synthetic, obscure, expressive, elements of her sound.
Album track, ‘Life Through Closed Eyes’ is a peaceful, stripped song with a dreamy atmosphere but the lyrics are raw and confessional as Hero Fisher laments, “I know you lost your mind I don’t blame you… I know you’re tired, I don’t blame you”. On the track she explains: "I think this song speaks to and old friend/lover, calling on shared memories. To me it feels like an intimate moment of forgiveness, but from a distance. It should give relief, lift a weight off.”
Co-produced with Marta Salogni, ‘Glue Moon’ in its entirety is an adventurous and stylish collection of songs that have stand-alone personalities, but are best enjoyed in succession. Unusual yet aesthetically pleasing, sometimes solemn, sometimes uneasy, sometimes haunting, sometimes damn right unexpected; ‘Glue Moon’ is a beautiful record that casts light through shadows, provides ambience, and displays real emotion in both its vintage-inspired and innovative soundscapes.
