Kate Nash has taken inspiration from the environment for her new single, titled ‘Trash’.

The ‘Foundations’ singer returned to the limelight in a big way in 2018 with her kickstarter-funded fourth album ‘Yesterday Was Forever’ and her role in the Netflix series G.L.O.W.  The 31-year-old’s newest track is heavily inspired by the 90’s grunge/punk in both sound and aesthetic peppered with Nash’s trademark attitude and acerbic lyricism. ‘Trash' is heavily inspired by Nash's participation in an art exhibition using single-use plastics, which Nash stated has inspired more music with an environmental agenda.

Nash said: “I wrote the song specifically for the record. The whole thing really inspired and now I want to work on more music with an ethical/environmental agenda.”
