Callum Pitt - 'L. Lane'
One of the North East’s brightest up and coming artists, Callum Pitt, has celebrated the end of what has been a breakout year with the release of his new single ‘L. Lane’.
2019 is shaping up to be quite a twelve months for the solo artist, having signed to Humble Angel Records and released his debut EP ‘Poisoned Reveries’ which has been met with acclaim by reviewers, fans and streaming platforms alike. Its success has seen Pitt hit the festival circuit for the first time, with performances at the likes of The Great Escape, Deer Shed and a homecoming at This Is Tomorrow peppered throughout the Summer.
The release of ‘L. Lane’ coincided with Pitt embarking on an eight-date tour across the country, wowing audiences far and wide but the highlight proved to be a single launch celebration in Pitt’s hometown Newcastle at The Cluny. ‘Poisoned Reveries’ has been one of my favourite releases of the year thus far, with Pitt’s imagination in his lyrics and catchy melodies making all four tracks truly enjoyable in their own right.
‘L. Lane’ follows very similar beats to the EP, instantly hooking you with the country inspired melody before Pitt plays out a story of “feeling stuck” and the resentment you have for the place where you find yourself. Whether that be an unenjoyable job, or in a long distance relationship, both which Pitt touches on. Pitt does have a talent for hooking you in with a catchy tune, but leaving you to think and resonate with the thoughtful lyrics, a talent that is certain to take Pitt far in the industry.
