Grace Carter - 'Fired Up'

In this cold weather, Grace Carter has released the perfect tune to warm you up, on new single ‘Fired Up’.

The song goes down a slightly more mellow direction than previous singles, with a sparse beat consisting of nothing more than a few drums and the occasional pluck of a guitar, and it’s in this space that Grace’s vocals shine. Of course, they’re always brilliant, a trademark of her music, but in this stripped back setting Grace’s vocals are effortless and mature; sultry and restrained yet rich, warm and encompassing. A title such as Fired Up juxtaposed on top of a song that’s chilled out forces us to put preconception to one side and listen intensely.

The track feels deeply personal, themed around a vulnerable pre-relationship position, so it remains relatable and doesn’t detach Grace’s emotion from the listener. Her brand of relaxed R&B is intelligent and sophisticated with depth and grace- pardon the pun.
