Jason Piquette - 'Hearts for Sale'
Florida-born singer-songwriter Jason Piquette releases intimate indie folk on heartfelt single, ‘Hearts for Sale’.
Jason Piquette’s ‘Hearts for Sale’ opens with a familiar, chiming, melancholic guitar melody and Piquette’s gritty, warm folk vocal setting the track off to an affecting, introspective start with the poignant lyrics, “I caught a different kind of cold last night, the kind that you don’t catch in the wintertime”. Piquette takes his listener through an intimate confessional exploring themes of disconnect, distance and discontentment in a relationship and a desire for change.
While the track is relatively restrained and driven by an underlying sorrow, ‘Hearts for Sale’ introduces engaging military style rolling percussion, before stepping into an upbeat acoustic driven hook with a skip in its step as Piquette candidly confesses, “ My heart’s for sale, I don’t want it anymore, it takes me places I don’t wanna be”.
’Hearts for Sale’ thoughtfully combines pop, indie and folk influences to create a catchy, heartfelt contemporary song with an emotive, honest punch that resonates hard with its listener.
