Aisha Badru embraces a lighter more optimistic direction on her new single, ’Water’ which is awash with holistic and therapeutic, subtly cinematic textures, before stripping down to an almost acapella ending to show off Badru’s affecting hushed vocal and the power of her poetic lyrics.
There’s still a raw, fractured honesty to Badru’s vocal delivery, but this track comes from a place and a person who is healed and who understands that the power of natural forces exists both outside us and within us.
On the track Badru explains, ‘Water’ is a message to embrace the fact that our lives are constantly in flux. Some relationships will last through the changes and that's great, but others will drift away and that's ok too. Learning to let go with grace while trusting that things will work out in your favour will save lots of heartache and self-loathing”.
