Nia Wyn - '10 Seconds'

Nia Wyn - Press Shot (Main).jpg

Although Nia Wyn’s new single is named ‘10 Seconds’ this brilliant track will stay with you for much longer.

Like a Michelin star meal, the song is perfectly balanced. Rich and warm guitar notes strum sultrily, enticing and inviting, before Nia’s incredibly distinctive vocals cruise through the track, complementing the instrumental perfectly. Her soul influences are obvious, with her range dynamic and diverse but never strained; effortless and expert like the greats Nia cites as influences.

The chorus is infectious without irritating, comparable to a warm blanket. The track wraps you up and you don’t want to leave. Harking back to the sultry guitar notes, the slow, chilled, R&B-like tempo of the song creates a sexy vibe, fitting for a song self-proclaimed to be about ‘the push and pull of sexual tension’.

Tipped for greatness by those who know, (Huw Stephens, Great Escape Festival etc.), you’d be a fool to doubt them. Nia Wyn is clearly on the rise to greatness, and as surely as ‘10 Seconds’ is one of the steps onwards, it’s worth slowing down as a listener and enjoying the track for all it’s worth right now.
