Tuarrah - 'Rhinebeck'
’Rhinebeck’, is the dreamy first single taken from Tuarrah’s second album, ‘Lying on Our Backs’ due out in February 2020.
Tuarrah’s ‘Rhinebeck’ flows with a dreamy elemental ambience seeing the band create an enticing, floaty soundscape that sounds like the love child of The Knife and The Sugarcubes. Julia Easterlin’s beautiful, distinctive vocal elegantly dips in and out of looped drums and trickling, shimmering production with a lightness that makes its listener feel super mellow. The band also embrace an atmospheric spaciousness and easy listening chill out vibes by adding an ethereal instrumental that takes avant pop to a new level of bliss.
’Rhinebeck’ was written by Tuarrah’s founder, Charlie Van Kirk who was inspired by an interaction between a couple that he saw from the driver’s seat of his parked car. Not being able to hear their voices, he created his own narrative as seen in the lyrics, “I try to read your lips as you talk, in the car across the parking lot, are you staying or are you leaving? will you be forgiven?”
While lyrically ambiguous Tuarrah have created a soothing soundscape that will leave you feeling weightless.
