Daggy Man - 'The Conversation'

Daggy Man shares oddly charming alternative rock on likeable single, ‘The Conversation’.

’The Conversation’ opens with unusual beeping electronic and bizarre yet playful sonic textures, accompanying Daggy Man’s vocal which is a back and forth between his despondent robotic vocal and a charming baroque pop/indie folk vocal. It’s a creative and imaginative tune about a telephone exchange seeing “two people come together in their separateness” that firstly reels its listener into with its peculiar dynamics, but keeps them engaged with its upbeat, buoyant, airy tones and optimistic lyrics as Daggy Man sings, “this year i’m going to make some changes”.

Daggy Man is the project of Thomas Calder who is due to release his third album ‘Yawn’ in 2020 which Daggy Man explains:

"This album is about the self, it’s about personality, it’s about connection and communication, between people, between moments, and between different parts of our inner dialogue. It’s about lost souls and searching minds and the pursuit of peace and meaning among the chaos of your inner landscape.

It’s full of light and shade, it’s full of humour and pathos. It’s bizarre and strange and not like anything I’ve ever made before, it’s connected to some primal place within my body, and not just crafted with my mind. These two tracks are a fitting insight into what is to come."
