Brighton’s indie-folk due TYGERMYLK have released a spellbindingly hypnogogic song which takes reference from a dream that singer-songwriter Hayley Harland had about being the mother of bees, and killing her hive.

Becoming more apparent during the time that the Extinction Rebellion protests were in full swing; Hayley’s thought process looked even deeper into the state of our climate whilst staying in her childhood home and spending more time with her mother who is a beekeeper. Considering the future of wildlife at the hands of our destructive and gluttonous nature culminated in Hayley subconsciously killing all of her bees because she ate too much honey. The underlying guilt that comes from worrying whether or not you’re doing enough to aid efforts in saving our planet is something that we all feel, time to time. ‘I Killed The Bees’ is a hazy rumination on an important message. One of conservation, community and positive change – something that TYGERMYLK plan to reflect on, in all of their upcoming releases.
