The Band Explains - Slothrust - 'Peach'

Slothrust’s Leah Wellbaum speaks to us about the fairytale-esque visuals for the band’s gritty alternative single, Peach’ which is out on May 3rd via Dangerbird Records.
’Peach’ is taken from Slothrust’s fourth full-length critically acclaimed album ‘The Pact’ which was released last September.

Where was the video for 'Peach'' filmed?
Idyllwild, California.

How does the video connect with the song? (
The lyrics to ‘Peach’ evoke youth and wonder, as well as things not being quite as they appear. This video aligns with just that!

Do you have any behind the scenes stories you can share with us?
We considered a couple of different locations for this video but settled on Idyllwild because it had the most fairytale-esque energy. There was even still snow on the ground.

Could you tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
This video is about curiosity, and believing in the whimsical despite it straying from the reality that you are most comfortable with.

What do you hope people take away from watching the video?

I hope that people see this video and think about how music is a universal language that transcends all walks of life. Music is a magnet that draws in all creatures.
