Walt Disco - 'Strange to Know Nothing'

Glasgow’s hottest new band Walt Disco release their bizarrely mesmerising new single ‘Strange to Know Nothing’.

‘Strange to Know Nothing’ is one of the most familiar yet original singles to be released in a long time. There’s the accessible side to ‘Strange…’ – there’s a strong 80s disco-funk influence and the guitars hint at Talking Heads later records. But this is where it gets weird – the synths are goth rather than pop. The vocals are crooned similarly to Lux Interior of The Cramps. And even if you have never seen Walt Disco live or in photographs, there is that glamorous and androgynous quality to the sound, akin to the New Romantics. Walt Disco could probably rewrite the music for The Rocky Horror Show, beginning with ‘Stranger…’ it no one would bat an eyelid.

It may be strange to know nothing, but Walt Disco know how to be strange. They are fascinating sonically and visually, and you need to listen to ‘Stranger…’ now.
