Devon - 'I DONT WANT 2 B UR FRIEND'

Devon’s I DONT WANT 2 B UR FRIEND is an intoxicating shot of indie pop.

Clocking in at just over two minutes Devon’s new single is over in a heady rush, inviting continuous abuse of the replay button. Mixed by Tarek Musa (Spring King, The 1975), a comparison to these two bands does no-one an injustice. The chorus is incredibly infectious and catchy, and the energy never lapses- even structurally foregoing a bridge, meaning we are bombarded with chorus after chorus before being left wanting more.

The track is, perhaps coincidentally, running a parallel to Devon’s career currently, and that parallel is the momentum.  The song blasts along, never lulling, and meanwhile Devon himself has done the same. He recently signed to the label Universal Music On Demand after a summer of festivals including Truck, Barn on the Farm and Live at Leeds. With his two biggest shows to date approaching, in London and Bristol, much like I DONT WANT 2 B UR FRIEND, Devon shows no signs of slowing down.
