Inhaler - 'Ice Cream Sundae'
The new Inhaler track ‘Ice Cream Sundae’ is a large, tasty scoop of indie melancholia with delicious synth sprinkles.
Ice Cream Sundae is an instantly familiar, solid indie tune with soaring choruses, dynamic vocals and punctuating synths. Yet, to say Inhaler are riding the indie wave would be to do them an injustice; Inhaler’s wave is fresh and different, with the band more intent on directing their own movement at an impressive pace, having released such few songs to such success and acclaim.
Ice Cream Sundae focuses on loss and gain, the cyclical nature of life everyone can relate to, and this is noted by singer Elijah Hewson who says he likes ‘writing about normal teenage experiences that everybody can relate to.’ His vocals further transcend a singular human experience, with a timeless sound that would suit guitar music in any era.
It truly feels like a matter of when, not if, Inhaler blow up and become huge, and this latest single has surely shortened that fuse.
