Millie Turner - 'Ride This Train'
The new single ‘Ride This Train’ from Millie Turner is an indie-pop journey you’ll never want to end.
Starting with a dreamy, whispery vocal over a lo fi beat, the synths start to build before an atmospheric guitar plucks away and the song truly takes off. Millie’s depth in diverse vocals is evident on the track, ranging from the ethereal chorus notes to a somewhat spitting bridge, all in her sweet and pretty tone.
The production on Ride This Train is incredibly polished. The vocals sit confidently at the front of the mix and are complimented by backing vocals and synths expertly sprinkled into the back of your mind. The song is extremely catchy without any annoying qualities of an earworm- pressing the repeat button has never felt so okay.
Pop music is obviously an incredibly busy, competitive genre; a crescendo of artists vying for your attention with cacophonies of noise, but Millie Turner’s subdued approach demands attention through its dreamy laidback nature, sophistication and fresh approach to the genre.
