Leeds’ finest Marsicans, pack a punch with the hardest hitting release to date with the new single ‘Can I Stay Here Forever (pt.II)’.

2019 was a monumental year for the Yorkshire quartet, with their headline homecoming show on the BBC Introducing Stage at Leeds Festival being the icing on the cake. But this year is somehow set to top it, heading to the USA at the beginning of 2020 for their first American shows at the SXSW Festival.

The pinnacle however will be the release of their yet untitled album, signing to Killing Moon and ‘Can I Stay Here Forever (pt.II)’ is the perfect way to introduce their new LP as the four-piece bare it all in a way like we’ve never seen previously.

Spawned from a previous project, Marsicans have been honest in how this track saw the light of day, reflecting the turbulent time in which it was written and recorded. Singer James Newbigging explains that the track is linked to the “divided place” that the UK has become, and frustration around not only the situation that we find ourselves in but the ignorance that people have to the opposite side of the debate.

Though the difficult subject matter shows maturity in their evolving lyrics, the infectious sound of Marsicans remains and if they keep this combination we will be on track for one of the best debut albums of the year.

‘Can I Stay Here Forever (pt.II)’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Marsicans will play the Parish in Huddersfield on January 31st.
