Kate Vogel - 'Rain' / 'The Cycle'

Kate Vogel releases achingly honest americana-tinged pop on impressive singles, ‘Rain’ and ‘The Cycle’.

With storytelling lyrics at the forefront of her sound, Kate Vogel fleshes out her intimate songs with mellow americana and pop influences. ‘Rain’ sees Vogel’s exposed vocal shivers with evocation amidst pleasing, stirring, swelling production as she predicts a storm on the horizon and learns to dance in the rain.
’The Cycle’ is a Vogel’s most recent song. It’s a stripped track, driven by a gentle acoustic melody that offers a lightness to Vogel’s gritty storytelling and sombre tone, as she explores the themes of trauma, child abuse and suicide.

On the track Vogel explains, ”13 years of child abuse. Trauma is passed down from generation to generation until someone decides to heal. I decided that I'm going to be the last one in the bloodline. The cycle ends with me”.

Vogel has been working with Nashville-based pop producer Chase Coy ( Colbie Caillat) and Oregon-based producer Tyler Fortier to create a beautiful and deeply touching collection of songs born from raw emotion. Through her music, Vogel is showing the endless strengths found in vulnerability and how it is possible to come back from even the deepest of traumas and feelings of hopelessness to embrace hope, confidence and purpose.
