Album Review: Holy Fuck - 'Deleter'
Canadian Quarter Holy Fuck have released their fifth album ‘Deleter’ which see’s the band create a new electronic universe which is empowering & inspires feeling free.
Holy Fuck have become very influential over the past decade creating a widescreen technicolour sound which merges both Dance & Alternative elements together. It’s now on their fifth release ‘Deleter’ that they are trying to break out more into the mainstream and get their unique sound heard by the masses.
The album starts perfectly with the minimalist sounding ‘Luxe’ which features Alexis Taylor. The song doesn’t over complicate things, it creates the foundations for the album to experiment more with their cool electronic sounds. The album then flows fluently into ‘Deleters’ which is fantastic song which has a heavy influence of 80’s new wave. One of the highlights of the album is the single ‘Free Gloss’ featuring Nicolas Allbrook of Pond, Nicolas’s distorted vocals blend together so well with the synth & dance beats creating a piece of music which bridges the gap between club dance & indie alternative.
One other key highlight on the album includes ’No Error’ which is an amazing instrumental which includes a killer psychedelic riff which once again crosses the barrier into the dance world. This album will nourish so many music lovers because it has the best of both worlds and combines the two into a stunning art project.
