TV People - 'String'

TV People are taking us down a wormhole of past vices and self-destruction with their eery new single ‘String’.

Dublin is vastly expanding as a musical hotbed, especially in its roster of post-punk acts and TV People are certainly one of the genre’s budding prospects. The quartet have really conquered a lot since beginning early last year, taking on 2020 in some style releasing 3 singles already which has garnered them praise on the emerald isle and across the Irish sea.

‘String’ sees them once again collaborate with Darkland’s Dan Doherty and Christian Wright as we see them meticulously dissect themselves more than we’ve seen before as we delve deep into the psyche of an individual who is on a path of self-destruction with a tendency to use addiction as a coping mechanism.

The song’s main theme is one of “hopelessness” when in that cycle of self-destruction and how that can be normalised in our society and the “damage” that can bring over time. The attention of detail that this band choose to put into their work is astounding, with each guitar line and the punk-tinged undertones being thought out and that commitment is incredibly rewarding as a listener.

‘String’, the new single from TV People is available now on all major streaming platforms.
