How does the video connect with the song?
The video connects with the song as it shows how quickly things can change. The video shows growth but then disconnection. And I think that matches the song perfectly.
What is your favourite lyric in the song?
It would probably have to be “My heart was set on this, so I guess we’re opposites” I think it captures the whole feeling and meaning of the song.
Could you tell us about the ideas/ themes/ imagery used?
Throughout the video you see hands being held then hands apart, flowers growing beautifully then being destroyed. And I think throughout there is a strong sense of loneliness. And this really connects with the imagery of the song.
What’s the message of the song?
The message of the song is, don’t plan everything in your life out for someone else or with someone else in mind, and to remember that your needs and your plans for yourself matter.
