Tom Grennan - 'Something Better'
Tom Grennan continues to build anticipation towards his long-awaited second album with the upbeat new single ‘Something Better’.
Grennan quickly catapulted himself to stardom with this highly lauded debut ‘Lighting Matches’ being one of the best releases of that year and cementing Grennan as one of this country’s brightest musical talents. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the soloist to return, coming back with such a bang with ‘This is the Place’ and only continuing to get better and better.
‘Something Better’ will be one of the main tracks that form Grennan’s highly anticipated sophomore LP ‘Evering Road’ which is expected for release in March next year. The track is Grennan at his very best, filled with bundles of energy which has powered him right through a turbulent 2020 which has included a virtual headliner at the Brixton Academy as well as playing a part in the landmark socially distanced shows at the Newcastle Virgin Money Unity Arena.
This year has shaped many things in many different ways, ‘Something Better’ hasn’t escaped that with a song originally about empowerment following heartbreak has turned into a incredibly energetic anthem that is beaming with optimism.
Grennan highlighted the change, taking the track from being inspired by “smiling on the outside” but dealing with a “whirlwind” of dark thoughts on the inside. The lockdown has turned that on its head with Grennan now being “constantly distracted” by a better future on the horizon. The optimism that ‘Something Better’ radiates is truly infectious, coupled that with Tom Grennan’s classic sound really puts anticipation for his new album at a fever pitch.
‘Something Better’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Tom Grennan’s second album ‘Evering Road’ is available March 5th 2021.
