Garrett Kato - 'All Good'

Singer, songwriter and producer Garrett Kato shares emotive single, ‘All Good’ taken from his new album, ‘hemispheres’.

Sometimes life can seem like a never ending carousel of people stepping in and out of our lives. ‘All Good’ sees Garrett Kato explore the bittersweet truth that sometimes people stay and sometimes people go. In turn, it explores the heartache of searching for closure and the heavy realisation that someone who was once so close to us, is now a stranger.

‘All Good’ is a sparse piano ballad fundamentally filled with remorse and nostalgia. Yet Kato’s rich soulful vocal channels a warm vulnerability that sees the emotion of the piece delivered with measure. There’s also some really lovely strings on the track as it develops, which highlights the solemn, yet sophisticated nature of the track.

Despite the place of sorrow the track is born from, there’s no sense of desperation here and it is this which makes the track more poignant. ‘All Good’ is fuelled by a gentle longing for something that has long since slipped through our fingertips. It' documents the lies we tell ourselves to make ourselves and others think everything is okay. It’s easy listening and affecting singer-songwriter pop, haunted with what-could-have-beens.
