The Mysterines - 'Love's Not Enough'

Liverpool’s next big thing, The Mysterines, look to bring a fresh take on feel good grunge with the release of their new single ‘Love’s Not Enough’.

It has been quite the rise for this Scouse collective since the release of their debut EP ‘Take Control’ only last summer, securing coveted support slots alongside Royal Blood as well as The Amazons. 2020 could certainly be the breakthrough year for the trio, having recently been announced on the roster for Circa Waves’ homecoming festival in April and their own UK headline tour coming up at the end of February.

The Mysterines have carved out their own way with a fresh and commanding sound, with frontwoman, Lia Metcalfe’s certainly on track to be one of the voices of her generation. ‘Love’s Not Enough is as much a relatable indie rock anthem than a gut wrenching grunge epic.

Metcalfe shows maturity beyond her years within her lyrics, showing a reflection of how “destructive” love can be on your mind and soul. ‘Love’s Not Enough’ has the unique ability to have you head banging or on your knees in despair in one foul swoop, truly something that needs to be watched and admired going forward from this very talented outfit.

‘Love’s Not Enough’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and The Mysterines will continue their UK headline tour at Nottingham’s Bodega Social Club on February 19th.
