Grace Gillespie – 'Goodbye'

London based artist and producer Grace Gillespie has released her first single of the new decade – a breath-takingly raw ode to hopes and dreams.

‘Goodbye’ sees Grace tapping into comforting, soulful folk-pop spheres. Intriguing melodies combined with mesmerising vocals dancing along shifting harmonies create an air of warmth, a safe space for vulnerability. A vulnerability that is ever present in her songwriting.

Intricate lyrics speak of wondering whether it’s time to leave unfulfilled dreams behind but not quite being able to let go: “Maybe now it’s time to sell all my guitars, see what’s left of me under the sea of tangled wires […] but I don’t want to say goodbye for what could I miss more than this.”

‘Goodbye’ perfectly captures the uncertainties of being a creative soul in a profit-centred world, the constant battle of mind vs heart. Thankfully, the heart usually comes out on top, we are all dreamers at the end of the day and with this new single Grace is one step closer to wish-fulfilment.
