The Bluechips - 'Deception'
Three-piece psychedelic rock band The Bluechips want you all to know about ‘Deception’, taken from their debut album 'Illegal Machine' which is out now.
The Bluechips is the project of childhood friend Jake Albi (Vocals/Drums) and Paul Beladino (Vocals/Guitar) who are now joined by bassist Tom Davis and channeling a sound that channels pop and progressive rock n’ roll. ‘Deception’ opens with spunky, creeping rhythms creating an insturmental intro that really digs deep into ominous yet playful territory.
As the track develops, the band show off their skills at alternating dynamics and tempos to keep their listener on their toes, retaining a sense of familiarity in its infectious melodic pop melodies without filtering out its huge, bouncy, rock energy. In terms of influences, you can hear hints of Alkaline Trio, to Foo Fighters, to Biffy Clyro on ‘Deception’ seeing The Bluechips deliver an enthused song that would sit confidently, energetically and intelligently on any mainstream-leaning alternative rock playlist.
