Serbian-Canadian musician Dana Gavanski shares quirky and hypnotic cut ,‘Small Favours’, ahead of the release of her debut album, ‘Yesterday Is Gone’, due out on 27th March via Full Time Hobby.

Dana Gavanski’s ‘Small Favours’ opens with the lull of a bouncy, looped guitar rhythm to accompany her distinctive vocal which playfully exhibits a bluesy sense of despondency. While the song has a core driving rhythm that is familiar to fans of vintage indie folk rock on its accessible hook, ‘Small Favours’ punctures these influences with psychy tones and avant-garde vocal chops that gives the song a lovely forward thinking touch.

On the ideas behind the track Gavanski explains:
“Small Favours expresses a cheekiness. A playful dismissal of heaviness and getting bogged down by emotions, acknowledging how things may seem small when they’re big and big when they’re small.”

’Small Favours’ is a peculiar and entirely enticing track that will leave you wanting more. The good news is, you won’t have to wait too long. ‘Small Favours’ is taken from Dana Gavanski’s upcoming album ‘Yesterday Is Gone’ which was co-produced between Dana, Toronto-based musician Sam Gleason, and Mike Lindsay (Tunng and LUMP w/ Laura Marling) and is out tomorrow!
